It’s a bittersweet day for two Parkland area schools, that will be closing for the final time today. Birch River School was a K-to-6 facility with an enrolment of 32 students, while Calder School was a K-to-8 institution with 20 pupils. Come September, the former Birch River students will be bussed to Bowsman. Former Calder students will be transported to Langenburg or Yorkton.
