Parkland Victim Services is one of several community-based organizations, that will share in over 170-thousand dollars provided through the province’s Civil Forfeiture Program, as part of an overall 532-thousand dollar investment this year, in police agencies, community-based organizations, and the Victims’ Fund.
The Yorkton-based CBO will receive 25-thousand dollars, to to fund wearable personal safety devices for victims of domestic violence, in high-risk situations.
If an emergency situation arises, the press of a button on these devices will instantly contact 911, while sending alerts and the individual’s GPS location to the victim’s family and friends.
