Tips for the Kids and Parents, Trick or Treating in the Snow!

Snow before Halloween. We’ve all lived through it, but it’s still a shock to the system. I’m not sure if my little guys will want to brave the cold tomorrow night. We might just stick to the mall. But I did some research just incase we do go out tomorrow night. Thought I would share what I found.

1. Dress in layers: Halloween costumes that can fit over a snowsuit is a must have for kids that live on the prairies.
2. Plan Your Route: Before heading out, map out a route that takes into consideration the condition of the sidewalks and streets. This will ensure a safer and more enjoyable trick or treating experience.
3. Bring a Flashlight: It’s important to have a flashlight handy to navigate through the snowy streets. This will not only help you see where you’re going but also make you more visible to drivers and other trick or treaters. 4. Stay Hydrated: It’s easy to forget about staying hydrated when the temperatures are colder, but it’s still important to drink plenty of water while trick or treating. Walking in the snow can be physically demanding, and staying hydrated will help keep your energy levels up throughout the night.
5. Carry a Bag or Bucket with a Lid: Snow can easily find its way into your trick or treating loot, so consider using a bag or bucket with a secure lid. This will help keep your treats dry and prevent any mishaps along the way.
