Province of Saskatchewan announces over $452,000 in funding for teacher-led projects

The Province of Saskatchewan has announced a second round of funding to support 15 teacher-led projects, to the tune of more than 452-thousand dollars.

The money is provided through the Teacher Innovation and Support Fund, which was announced in January,

Locally, the Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division will receive funding for a project that provides professional development, to allow teachers to improve their teaching skills in early years settings.

The Prairie Valley School Division, will get funding to support two different projects – one that provides learning opportunities for students in the areas of traditional Indigenous and western music, and the other, to support professional development for teachers, in areas such as speech pathology and occupational therapy.

And the Horizon School Division, will get money for a regulation room, to provide an innovative learning environment for students.

Teachers and school administration can apply for up to 75-thousand dollars, to support projects in a number of areas, including student achievement, school safety, and student and teacher wellness.
