Guilty plea in April vehicle theft and police chase in Swan River

A woman accused of stealing a vehicle from Swan River, and leading police on a high speed chase, has admitted her guilt.

32-year-old Trisha Cook appeared in Dauphin Tuesday, where she pled guilty to three charges, including Flight from Police and Impaired Driving, with the remaining charges stayed by the Crown.

Cook received a sentence of 160 days time served, along with one year of probation, and a one-year driving ban.

On April 4, Swan River RCMP were called on a report of someone entering a home, taking a set of keys, and taking a vehicle.

The vehicle led police on a high-speed chase, until a spike belt was used on Highway 10 to disable it.
