Kamsack man charged following Nov. 2022 death on Keeeseekoose F.N. back in court

A new court date has been set for a Kamsack man, who admitted to his role in connection with a death on the Keeseekoose First Nation.

Last month, 43-year-old Edgar Kakakaway Senior pled guilty to Accessory After the Fact to Murder, and he was to have been sentenced on July 25 in Yorkton Court of King’s Bench, but the matter was adjourned to September 26.

In November of 2022, Kamsack RCMP were called to the Keekeekoose First Nation, where they found a 16-year-old Cote First Nation boy dead at the scene.

20-year-old Edgar Kakakaway Junior, of the Keeseekoose First Nation is charged with Second Degree Murder in the incident, and he remains in custody, to appear in Kamsack on September 24, for a preliminary hearing.
