Another court appearance has been made by a Cote First Nation man charged with Second Degree Murder in the death of a toddler.

26-year-old Waylon Severight was in Yorkton Court of King’s Bench Friday, where he was remanded in custody to September 27.    

RCMP say the accused was known to the victim, 21-month-old Lorenzo Cote.

In November of 2020, emergency crews were called to a Canora residence on a report of a toddler needing urgent medical care, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
