Blue-Green Algae Is in Bloom

The Saskatchewan Water Security Agency and the Ministry of Health is warning swimmers and boaters to be on the lookout for blue-green algae blooms, which are cropping up now due to the recent hot weather. Swimming in or drinking this algae-bloom affected water can cause red skin, sore throat, cramps or diarrhea. The algae occurs naturally and has nothing to do with polluted water.
