Finally Watched Something Borrowed: Thoughts from a Super-Late Viewer!

Hey everyone! Guess what? I just finally sat down and watched the romantic comedy Something Borrowed! Yep, I know I’m super late to the party on this one, but better late than never, right? After hearing so much about it, I figured it was high time to give it a go. And boy, do I have some thoughts!

You can watch Something Borrowed on Crave or Netflix

Let’s start with the positive stuff, because I like to give credit where credit is due. The filming was absolutely gorgeous. The scenes were beautifully shot, and the color palette was spot on. Plus, the acting was phenomenal! Serious hats off to the cast and crew for pulling off such a polished movie.

Now, onto the plot and characters. It felt like every character was caught up in a tangled web of lies. It was basically an emotional rollercoaster watching all these relationships unfolding into one big mess. I found myself constantly torn between supporting and despising pretty much every character. One minute I was like, “Aww, that’s cute!” and the next I was screaming, “Wait, what are you doing?!”

Here’s the kicker: I have no issues whatsoever with The Wedding Planner, even though it has its fair share of forbidden love and complicated relationships too. Maybe it’s the charm of Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey that makes it all more palatable? I mean, who can resist their on-screen chemistry?

You can rent The Wedding Planner from Prime Video or YouTube.

Overall, I’m glad I watched Something Borrowed. It’s always good to see what the hype is (or was) all about. But I definitely have a love-hate relationship with this film. The acting and filming get a thumbs up, but the character dynamics? Oh boy, they wore me out! Until next time, happy watching!
