Charges stayed against last of four accused in April drug and weapons busts on George Gordon F.N. and in Punnichy

The last of four people arrested in connection with drug and weapon busts on the George Gordon First Nation and in Punnichy is off the hook.

On April 19, police responded to a report of potentially-armed individuals travelling in a vehicle on the reserve, which resulted in the seizure of about 14 grams of crystal meth, four grams of fentanyl, a machete and some cash.

The next day, RCMP searched a home in Punnichy, and seized about 114 grams of crystal meth, 25 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of fentanyl, over 100 grams of cannabis, some weapons and cash.

On May 7 in Punnichy Court, the charges against 24-year-old Shaylon Mooswa of Punnichy, were stayed by the Crown Prosecutor.
