A 31-year-old Stonewall, Manitoba man is dead following a collision Monday morning, in the R.M.of Sifton.

Just after 9 a.m., Virden RCMP were called to the scene, on Highway 21, just south of Provincial Road 543, where they say a southbound SUV, that was later found to have been stolen from Winnipeg, veered across the centre line, and collided head-on with a northbound farm tractor.

Mounties say the victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 21-year-old man driving the tractor escaped injury.

The incident remains under investigation by Virden RCMP, with the assistance of a forensic collision reconstructionist.
