Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a death.

File Hills Police Service responded to a report of an injured woman at a residence on Okanese First Nation yesterday, and Upon arrival, officers found 32-year-old Amanda Keewatin from Peepeekisis Cree Nation deceased at the scene.

The death was deemed suspicious, and 39-year-old James Stonechild of Okanese First Nation, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

He is set to appear in Regina Provincial Court today

Keewatin’s family has been notified, and the investigation continues.
