Two people charged in connection with an armed robbery in Balcarres on Monday afternoon, have made their first court appearance.
Just after 4 p.m. Monday, Mounties were notified of a robbery at a Balcarres business, in which they say two women allegedly entered the business, assaulted the employee with a golf club, and stole two bottles of liquor, before fleeing the scene, leaving the employee with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle travelling near Balcarres, and it failed to stop for police, before turning into a field, where Mounties were able to box it in and arrest the suspects, one of whom threatened a police officer while being taken to the detachment.
19-year-old Serenity Fink of Balcarres and 38-year-old Isabelle Starr of Fort Qu’Appelle remain in custody on numerous charges, including Robbery and Flight from Police, and they will be back in Fort Qu’Appelle Court on October 10.
