Swan Valley Stampeders drop fourth straight after home loss to Virden

The Virden Oil Capitals charged past the Swan Valley Stampeders with a 5-1 victory on Wednesday night, ignited by an impressive four-goal second period.

Noel Englot delivered big, scoring twice, while Marshall Light added  a goal and two assists and goalie Peyton Shore shone brightly, making 21 saves to secure his first MJHL triumph.

Goals from Daniel Tokariwski and Acoyen Fehr also boosted the Oil Caps to a 4-5 record this season.

Aidan Taylor managed to score the lone goal for the Stampeders, as their record slipped to 1-7.

Despite Stampeders’ goalie Jackson Miller’s valiant effort, turning aside 36 of 41 shots, the team suffered defeat.

Catch the Stampeders in action again on Friday as they hit the road to face the Portage Terriers at Stride Place.
