Esterhazy RCMP are investigating a fatal collision involving a train and a tractor that occurred north of Gerald, Saskatchewan this evening. 

The accident, which happened around 5:41 p.m., claimed the life of the tractor’s driver, an adult male from the local area. 

Several train cars derailed, but only dry goods were spilled, with no hazardous materials involved.

Range Road 1322 is currently closed and will remain shut down until October 17 for investigation. RCMP are urging the public to stay clear of the area while the scene is being examined.
