Sentencing submissions have been entered, in the case of a Carievale man found guilty of abducting his seven-year-old daughter, to prevent her from getting a COVID-19 vaccination.

55-year-old Michael Gordon Jackson appeared in Regina Court of King’s Bench Monday, where the matter was adjourned for the judge’s decision on December 6.

In January of 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Jackson, after he was charged with Abduction in Contravention of a Custody or Parenting Order.

Mounties located Jackson and his daughter in Vernon, B.C., over a month later.
