Back in my day, minus 30 was just another winter day. Now, we get extreme cold warnings as soon as the temperature even hints at approaching minus 30! I know I might sound like that old guy who claims he trekked uphill both ways to and from school through three feet of snow, but it’s tough not to feel like we’re getting a bit soft. Growing up on the prairies, minus 30 was simply part of the season, nothing extraordinary. We bundled up, headed outside for recess, and truly, I believe we’re better for it. Those chilly outdoor adventures taught us resilience and made us appreciate the warmth even more. Who else remembers those frosty days fondly?
