Swan Valley Stampeders earn a point but fall in overtime to Virden

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped their final road of 2024 after a 5-4 overtime defeat to the Virden Oil Capitals.

Noel Englot scored his second goal of the game just 2:38 into overtime to seal the win, while Brett Sabel also scored twice.

Bryce Bryant also chipped in with the offence of Virden who got 30 stops from Nik Trakakis in the win.

Landen Gulutzan, Darren Hunt, Trace Langan and Dobie Unrau replied for the Stampeders, while goaltender Rowan White made 35 saves on 40 shots.

Swan Valley and Virden will have a rematch on Friday night back in Swan River starting at 7:00 PM to wrap up their pre-holiday break schedules.
