One final donation has been made to a community organization, from proceeds of the sale of the 2024 GX94 “Christmas Goodies” cookbook.
A one-thousand-dollar donation was made to the Yorkton Salvation Army and Major Laurie Reilly was grateful, saying it helps them to prepare to serve the community in 2025.
The money will be used to purchase food throughout the year for the food bank, and to put together food hampers and purchase Christmas gifts for next year, noting they gave out about 250 food hampers this year, along with Christmas gifts for about 190 kids.
This year’s Christmas Kettle campaign is struggling to meet the target goal, as they’re only around 76 per cent of the way to their $125-thousand fundraising goal
Reilly says two Kettles will be open for one final day today from 10 until 2, at Wal-Mart and Superstore, noting that the Salvation Army gave out about 250 food hampers this year, with the need expected to grow in the coming year.
