Grain Deliveries by Canada’s Two Major Railways Slump in Week 22: Ag Transport Coalition

CN and CPKC Rail supplied a combined 70% of hopper cars ordered in grain week 22, a decline from the 76% order fulfillment performance seen in week 21.

That’s according to the Ag Transport Coalition.

In supplying 67% of cars ordered by shippers in week 22, CN performance was unchanged from the prior week.

CN performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a twenty-fourth straight week.

CPKC performance saw a notable decline with the railway supplying 73% of shipper orders in week 22 as compared to the 82% performance seen the prior week.

CPKC performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a sixth straight week.
