Kam-Crete Ltd., a cornerstone business in Kamsack for over six decades, is closing its doors. The announcement came from Gordie Broda, president of the Broda Group of Companies, who described the decision as a difficult but necessary step.
“For over 60 years, our business has served Kamsack and the surrounding area,” Broda said.
“We worked with great people and organizations and contributed to many local projects. We’re proud of our legacy and confident a new business will rise to serve the community,” added Broda
A statement from the company explained that the decision was influenced by key staff nearing retirement and other business factors. Kam-Crete will honor its existing commitments but has ceased taking on new projects effective immediately.
The company was founded by Cas and Marie Broda, who built a family and a thriving business in Kamsack. Over the years, the Broda Group expanded into one of Western Canada’s largest heavy civil construction companies.
The closure marks the end of an era for Kam-Crete but leaves behind a lasting impact on Kamsack’s history and development.
