The House of Commons is viewing an amended Bill C-11.
MP for Yorkton-Melville Cathay Wagantall states that none of the amendments are significant for the Conservatives to back down on their opposition of the bill.
If passed, Bill C-11 would expand the mandate of the CRTC, granting it the power to define and regulate what counts as Canadian content on internet platforms, such as YouTube, Netflix and Spotify.
That would mean that the federal government would be allowed to control what Canadians can and can not see online.
