Saskatchewan to See Record Amount in Municipal Revenue Sharing

Saskatchewan communities will see a record $361.8 million in Municipal Revenue Sharing in the 2025-26 Provincial Budget, marking a 6.3% increase from the previous year.

This funding, based on a portion of provincial sales tax revenue, provides stable and predictable financial support for municipalities.

The Government of Saskatchewan has also announced reductions in Education Property Tax mill rates, projected to save property owners over $100 million annually.

While municipalities welcome the increased MRS funding, officials are monitoring how property tax changes and reassessments will impact local finances.

Community-specific MRS allocations will be available on March 19th.
