Counterfeit Currency Case In Regina Returns To Court

The case of a man arrested in connection with the alleged use of fake money at a Regina business last year, was back in Regina Provincial Court on Friday.

37-year-old Pierre Laferte, of Regina, remains in custody, and will be back in court on March 11th.

The charges against his co-accused, 32-year-old Tyson Knutson of Grenfell, were withdrawn in December.

The investigation began on May 10th, when Regina Police received a report from a business on Dewdney Avenue, where an individual allegedly used phony one-hundred-dollar bills, on April 17th and May 3rd.

Two suspects were identified, and a suspect vehicle was found on May 11th, at a home on Alexandra Street, where search warrants were executed and evidence was seized.
