Yorkton Mayor reminds residents to be cautious around sidewalks, outdoor rinks as weather warms up

The weather is starting to get warmer in the Parkland region.
As a result, Yorkton mayor Mitch Hippsley warns residents to be cautious on the city’s sidewalks. Hippsley adds that outdoor rinks can become bumpy and unsafe, so anyone using them should be cautious as well. Outdoor rinks are located at the Heritage Heights, Knights of Columbus, Silver Heights, Ukrainian Pioneer, and Weinmaster parks.
Inspection of storm drains and catch basins has begun in Yorkton, as the weather is getting warm.
Hippsley states that residents can help keep an eye out for clogged catch basins around the city. He says if you see water pooling at the end of your driveway, it’s likely due to a catch basin being clogged. Hippsley encourages people to clear those channels or report it online at www.yorkton.ca.
Hippsley adds that pothole repair operations has begun in the city.
