Vulnerable Manitobans Facing Housing Difficulties Receiving Financial Aid from Provincial Government

The Manitoba government has introduced measures to help residents facing hardships when it comes to housing.

Ten municipalities across the province, including Dauphin and The Pas, will share in 12 million dollars, aimed at assisting vulnerable Manitobans, who face barriers to suitable housing, by creating affordable housing and home ownership opportunities.

Another 5-point-6 million dollars will fund the creation of the Manitoba Rent Bank, with money to be administered by the Manitoba Non-Profit Housing Association, as interest-free loans, to help tenants dealing with unforeseen issues that affect their housing situation, such as a sudden need to find suitable housing, missed rent payments, or overdue utility bills.
