Congress Of Aboriginal Peoples Concerned If COVID-19 Enters Correctional Facilities

The National Vice-Chief of the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples would like to see both levels of government change their policies to help prevent COVID-19 from spreading through the prison system.
Kim Beaudin says both federal and provincial facilities are overcrowded and there can be steps taken to ensure the coronavirus doesn’t make its way into prisons.
He says if the virus was to make its way through correctional centres across the country, it would be very difficult to contain.
