RCMP are searching for a missing snowmobiler, last seen on Thompson Island on Lake Winnipegosis.

On Monday night, 27-year-old Walter Thomas of Easterville, left a remote cabin on the island on a snowmobile.

A check of his residence showed that he had not returned, and police say it’s unknown how long Thomas had been out in the poor weather conditions in the area.

Two other men were left stranded at the cabin, but they had made contact with family, and are being helped home today (Wed).
