The 2020 Manitoba budget has been put forward by the provincial government after a one week embargo.
Items in the new budget include: an additional 6-million dollars towards provincial police services and the funding of 27 new officers, a 4.8-million dollar increase in the Manitoba scholarship and bursery program, and a 2-million dollar increase towards mental health and addictions treatment.
Finance Minister Scott Fielding calls the new budget a step forward to building a brighter future for all Manitobans.
