Melville City Council Receive Visit From Local MP

The City of Melville had a special guest present at last night’s council meeting.

That being Yorkton-Melville MP Cathay Wagantall.

Wagantall says it’s important for her to visit and meet with her local municipalities.

Melville mayor Walter Streelasky says its great to hear from their local representative on such subjects as health-care, the Carbon Tax and last weeks Federal budget.

The City of Melville is offering free tipping at the landfill for residents and schools in the Rail City next month.

Free tipping will run from May 15th to 20th, 2023 and before entering people need to show a driver’s license or Utility bill showing a Melville address; post office box addresses will not qualify for free entry.

The city’s Director of Public Works Andrew Fahlman says they want to promote and encourage a cleaner community.

Free tipping week has been offered in Melville for many years, and Fahlman noted an increase in usage going back to 2008.
