Even though case counts remain low, federal officials caution the pandemic is not over. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam says they continue monitoring international developments, since some countries that have passed the peak of the Omicron wave are experiencing resurgences. She noted that as of March 31st, case counts in Canada have increased by 28%. Tam says officials are concerned about the BA-2 sub-lineage.
