Manitoba’s Diagnostic And Surgery Backlogs Continues To Decrease

Manitoba continues to see a decrease in diagnostic and surgery backlogs across the province.

Surgical backlog has been reduced by 32-percent, while the total diagnostic backlog has dropped by 31-percent since 2020.

As a result, Health Minister Audrey Gordon announced that the province is looking to increase its health-system capacity.

Beginning in the summer of 2020, the Manitoba government began addressing backlogs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic through supply arrangements and contracted care providers, completing 26-thousand 500 cases, to date.
