Manitoba Concerned About Possible Flooding

Flooding could happen in parts of Manitoba, as the province keeps an eye on a forecasted weather system, this week.

Up to 15-mm of precipitation could hit central Saskatchewan and western Manitoba, which could affect the Parkland region, the Upper Assiniboine River basin and the Saskatchewan river basin.

Already, up to 20-cm of snow remains in western and southwestern Manitoba, including areas between Swan River and the Canada/US border.

With temperatures forecasted to be above freezing in the coming days, this could create a fast melt and increased surface run-off that could cause overland flooding.
