More tests for COVID-19 were performed in Saskatchewan this week, compared to last week, however, there were fewer positive cases of the virus.
1,032 new cases of COVID-19 were identified on 7,689 laboratory tests, reflecting a weekly test positivity rate of 13.2%.
The province also reported 20 confirmed outbreaks of the virus at long-term care and care home settings, while 24 more deaths were announced over the week.
To date, 85.7% of residents 5-and-older have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 80.7% are fully vaccinated, and 51.4% of residents 18-and-older have received a booster shot.
