Unionized Sask. Crown Corporation Workers Start Job Action

Unionized employees at 7 Crown Corporations in Saskatchewan have started a work to rule campaign, after contract talks with the province broke down. The workers, part of Unifor, say they will escalate the action Friday. Talks broke down after the union refused to move off of a government-imposed wage freeze. The job action will look different in every workplace, but workers will perform the minimum standard required to do their job safely.  Nearly 5,000 Unifor members from SaskTel, SaskEnergy, SaskPower, Yorkton-based SecurTek, DirectWest, SaskWater, and the Water Security Agency will began job action at 12:01 this morning.
