Yorkton mayor with reminders as spring is finally here

Spring is finally here in the Parkland region.

With the warm weather comes the arrival of fire pits, and Yorkton mayor Mitch Hippsley reminds residents that they need a permit for fire pits in the city.
Hippsley says anyone looking to purchase a permit for this year can go online to www.yorkton.ca/fire, or by visiting City Hall in person.
Also with the warmer weather, more residents are enjoying the walkways through the city.
However, Mayor Hippsley warns residents that some paths may still be underwater, adding ice is another hazard residents need to be wary of.
The Parks and Recreation Department is working to find a solution to get the pathways back to normal.
Recycling app
Hippsley reminds the public that Yorkton has an app for recycling.
The Recycling Coach App provides information about local recycling programs.
The Mayor says the free app allows users to personalize recycling and garbage schedules, pick-up reminders, what recycling goes where, and activities making recycling education fun and engaging.
The Recycling Coach App can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple App stores.
