Contract talks between the Saskatchewan government and Unifor have hit an impasse, and strike action is likely at Crown Corporations at 12:01 tomorrow morning. Already, SaskTel, Yorkton based SecurTek and Direct West have indicated they will be impacted. SaskTel Stores will be closed for the duration, and some services will be disrupted. A “work-to-rule” campaign has been happening since Monday. SaskEnergy says emergency services will continue to run as service technicians are declared as essential, and SaskPower says outages will still be repaired as line technicians belong to another union. SaskWater, and the Water Security Agency would also be impacted.
