The RCMP Major Crime Unit North is investigating a sudden death in Hyas.

Kamsack RCMP received a complaint yesterday afternoon (Wed) of a sudden death at a home on the 300 block of 1st Avenue North in the village.

While the RCMP can’t confirm if the death is suspicious in nature, the deceased is an adult male and Mounties are trying to confirm his identity, so his family can be notified.

An autopsy will take place tomorrow (Fri).

Residents will notice an increased police presence for the next few days while the investigation is ongoing.
