Some Long-Term and Personal Care Homes in Sask. Have Visitation Restrictions Eased

As of Thursday, select long-term and personal care homes will have restrictions on visitation eased.
Residents can receive up to four visitors for outdoor gatherings and two people for indoor gatherings.
This will only be allow if 90% of residents in the long-term or personal care home have been fully vaccinated, with three weeks having passed since the completion of the second doses.
Care homes in the listening area that have fulfilled these requirements includes:
  • Lakeside Manor Care Home in Saltcoats;
  • Monmartre Integrated Health Centre;
  • Silver Heights Special Car Home in Raymore;
  • Norquay Health Centre;
  • Centennial Special Care Home in Esterhazy;
  • Echo Lodge in Fort Qu’Appelle and;
  • Hudson Bay Health Care Facility
The provincial government says there are many long-term and personal care homes with smaller populations that may not meet the requirement of 90 percent of residents fully immunized, even if one person is not vaccinated.
Flexibility for these homes with 10 or fewer people has been given as a result:
  • In homes with 10 or fewer residents, all but one resident must be fully vaccinated (both doses).
  • In all cases, before visitor restrictions can be amended, at least three weeks must have passed since the last second doses were received.
The province says restrictions will be reviewed on a weekly basis.
