The Manitoba government is doubling the budget for the Building Sustainable Communities program from $12.5 to $25 million. Premier Heather Stefanson says the funding will help non-profits and local governments enhance public spaces in their communities. Association of Manitoba Municipalities president Kam Blight says the last 2 years has seen significant financial challenges, so the additional funds are more than welcome.
