RCMP conducted a traffic safety initiative on the major highways around Yorkton and Melville on April 26th and 27th.
Police were focusing on drivers slowing down when passing emergency vehicles.
Officers made 127 contacts with members of the public which included 22 tickets for failure to slow to 60km/h when passing emergency vehicles, 12 speeding tickets, and 57 warnings issued.
The fine for passing emergency vehicles over 60km/h comes with a $230 base plus $4 per kilometre over the speed limit, turning to $8 per kilometre when speeds exceed 30km over the limit.
