RCMP arrested a Russell man in connection to alleged threats made online.

RCMP received a tip from INTERPOL last Wednesday that an online social media account, associated to a Russell resident, made threatening comments towards law enforcement personnel, government officials, and medical professionals.

Officers identified the suspect, and the next day, contacted the accused to turn himself in, but failed, so police went to a home on Memorial Avenue South in Russell.

When they told the suspect he was under arrest, he allegedly became combative, but was taken into custody.

42-year-old Michael Jae Man was due in Brandon court today (Mon) on charges of Uttering Threats, Resisting Arrest, and 4 counts of Assaulting a Police Officer.
