Federal Funding Flows To Yorkton

The City of Yorkton has received nearly $1-million in funding from the Federal Government. The money was part of an annual grant in which money is allocated to help towns and cities fund projects, and will help with many around the city. Director of Finance Ashley Stradeski says this year the tax was doubled.

Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer received their final donation of the 2019 campaign Yorkton Hyundai. A cheque for $17,664 was handed over Close Cuts, which will help purchase new digital mammography equipment at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. Hyundai donated $100 for each car they sold, and held numerous fundraisers to support Close Cuts.

Esterhazy Man Facing Firearm Charges Has Court Appearance

A new court date has set for an Esterhazy man, arrested last November on firearm charges In June of 2018, RCMP responded to a complaint of a firearm being discharged in Yarbo. 56-year-old John Churchill is also charged with Flight From Police, arising from an alleged incident on May 20th. Churchill’s matters were heard in Yorkton Provincial Court today (Mon), where he was remanded in custody for September 18th.
