Wet conditions this past week limited harvest progress in Manitoba. Manitoba Agriculture reports harvest is now about 40% complete. Crop yields are reported as average to slightly below average in all parts of the province. Hay and forage yields are significantly below average.

Moosomin Man Convicted of Fraud and Forgery, Released on Bail

A Moosomin man found guilty of Fraud and Forgery, has been released on bail, pending the appeal of his conviction. In July of last year, a judge sentenced 53-year-old Gregor Gmerek to four years behind bars. His appeal is scheduled to be heard in December. Gmerek was arrested in December of 2012, for defrauding his employer, Prairie Livestock, of over 1.2-million dollars.
